I was overweight at one point in my life. Once, I wore size 38 mens. Now I wear 28. I cut all the unnecessary sugars and fats and started to eat more fruits and vegetables and less dairy products, meat, white and carbohydrates. I drink water, tea or soda. I also learned that sparks cardio your body’s ability to burn fat. I also exercised daily at the same time. I never really like watching TV or staying long in one place so I never had a big problem with inactivity. I now have six pack abs, toned arms, and the hardest time finding pants that do not cost too big. It takes dedication and determination and self-control. If you can say “I do not really need what I do” or “What’s it do for me” or “Do I really want to do that to my body?” When you are environment and a desire to put down the junk food, then you will still be taking another step towards a form souhaitable.Il Just stay motivated and determined. Try to keep a mental picture of how you want to watch over how you if you do / dont do what you need.

    The most successful dieting experience I’ve had was using the Hilton Head Metabolism diet. I lost 50 pounds and kept it off for over a year. The author’s name is Dr. Peter Miller. I liked not having to count calories and that it offers menus to follow each day. It involves a combination of dieting and exercise and kept the weight dropping off.

    The soft cover book was only about $ 5 – $ 6 and worth the purchase. The book is an easy read and is simple to follow. The Word of Wisdom is also an excellent diet to follow. ;-) Good luck.

    I lost 30 pounds using the medifast program. I just BURNED fat.

    I was losing weight for a commission as a naval officer to return to the service, BUT, schedules and deadlines changed and I didn’t have to keep it off, so I enoyed pigging out and have to lose it again.

    I’ve gotten comfortable being overweight. I don’t look at all like I weigh 250 but it’s because I’m built with a weightlifters build with very broad shoulders and a thick upper and a narrow lower so I carry it very well. BUT, the military wants me back down if I’m going to re-apply again, so, here we go again! Starting january first.

    I admit, I like eating, but I shed weight so fast if I give it the least bit of effort, I just like eating. But medifast works exceptionally fast, go see a doctor, and if he says you can do it, do it!

    What didn’t work for me is watching what I eat. I’m an all or nothing type person.

    I *did* keep the weight off as long as I had that deadline ahead of me, but I was also sitting in a college class for 12 hours a day studying, stressed, so that doesn’t help at all.

    Soy Isolflavones combined with Reservatrol from Grape seed extract literally eats fat. You can buy them in the vitamin section for like $ 5 at Wal Mart. I’ve taken it and it just melts fast! I just have to watch my carb and sweets intake.

    To me anything which had worked was eating less and working more, that’s the best, anything apart from that is very long solution, and no guarantee that it will work or not.

    Excess weight or obesity is by far the number one health concern in this country.
    Sixty percent of Americans are either overweight or obese, including over 20 percent of teenagers.
    All are at risk for serious physical and emotional health problems.

    Nutrisystem – 30 pounds! Size 12 to a size 8!

    It’s a no brainer and that’s what I needed. Food’s not the greatest but it’s quick and I don’t have to think.

    My husband did a medical diet (Optifast) and lost 80 pounds. His situation was much more drastic than mine. I just wasn’t happy about being a size 12.

    Today there is too much information available on losing weight that has become more confusing and sometimes difficult to follow. It’s actually very easy to lose weight if you follow my weight loss tips.

    * Be in right frame of mind

    * Eat whole food

    * Eat fresh fruit

    * Drink enough water

    * Always chew your food

    * Take small meals

    * Include protein at meal

    * Shut off TV while eating

    * Increase your physical activity

    Weight loss is a tricky topic. Lots of people are unhappy with their present weight, but most aren’t sure how to change it – and many would be better off staying where they are. You may want to look like the models or actors in magazines and on TV, but those goals might not be healthy or realistic for you. Besides, no magical diet or pill will make you look like someone else.

    So what should you do about weight control?

    Hope this can help u. :)

    I joined a local program called the “Ultimate Body Challenge” that is put on by the Academy World of Taekwondo. It was fabulous. A combination of diet and exercise.

    The exercise portion was 6 days/week – 1 hr/day.
    It was tae-robics 3 days/week and sports-fusion 3 days per week.

    Tae-robics was very aerobic kicks and punches in a continuous motion.
    The sports-fusion changed each week. You trained as an athlete from say soccer would train (not playing soccer, but exercises that they would use to strengthen for their sport.) The next week it might be track and field.

    The diet is a very simple concept….and was 80% of the program according to the trainer.
    Eat 5 small meals/day.
    Each meal should have a serving of protein and a good carb
    Additionally, you should have 2 good carbs mixed in somewhere.
    Take your body weight, divide by two and drink that much water in ounces spread throughout each day. So, if you weigh 180, you drink 90 oz of water each day. The best time to drink most of your water is 30 minutes before you eat.
    Also 2 servings of good fats/day…(a few nuts before a meal is good because it actually triggers production of a chemical that makes your body think you are not hungry.

    IF you followed the diet at almost 100%…basically you got a check for each element.
    1 for each protein/day = 5
    1 for each carb/day = 7
    1 for each fat/day = 2
    1 for drinking all of your water in a day = 1

    So a total of 90 checks possible in 6 days. If you got 80 out of 90 that week, you get a cheat meal where you can eat anything you want and all you want for a meal. (mine was usually pizza or lasagna.)

    So, during that 10 weeks, I lost 30 pounds. The program ended just before Thanksgiving and through the holidays, I gained 3 pounds (in years past I typically would gain 8-10.) My eating habits have changed permanently due to the program. I now exercise 3 times/week instead of 6, and will be playing soccer again in the coming weeks. Since Christmas I have lost 2 pounds again.

    I have 20 more to lose…and my reduced version (3 days/week exercise) will get me there in about 6 months…and I will NEVER gain the weight back barring some physical incapacity because I have changed my lifestyle.

    ADDED: I find Roby’s to be a good plan except for the diet soda. It is HORRIBLE for you and actually is worse for weight loss than regular soda because of a chemical reaction that it causes. Just avoid soda all together or RARELY partake in a regular soda.
